Accommodation

The hostel part contains four rooms; three 2-beds rooms and one 4-beds room. In which there is one toilet with a shower, one separate shower and an additional toilet.

In the hostel part´s family room there is a sofa, TV were is also tv in the room. The kitchen is fully equipped with ovens, microwave, dishwasher, electric kettle and coffee maker. The glass veranda with several dining tables is situated next to the kitchen and just outside is the large porch.

Timmerhuset, A separate house with loft, five beds and TV-set, at ground floor it has family room, kitchen, toilet, shower and fireplace.

Guests that order breakfast will find it in the kitchen and you serve it yourself. Please inform us if you have any special wishes or allergies. Our guests can store their own food in the refrigerator.

Transports: due to the fact that we are situated a couple of kilometres outside Växjö we can offer transport to/from Växjö city in exchange for a smaller fee. For example, if you need to get to/from the train station/university. We do this by agreement, and as time permits.

About

Nybygget in the village Skir is owned by us; Åsa and Sven-Göran Erdtman. The farm includes a two-family house where we live at the ground floor and the upper floor is rented by another family. We have also built a few more houses which are rented by several families. All together 18 persons live at our farm.

We produce carrots, onions, potatoes, cucumbers and tomatoes for our own household. We have raspberry and blueberry bushes, everyone can take a bucket and pick as many buckets as you want for a small price.

Except for a dog and a cat we also have rabbits and fowls on the farm.  Freshly laid eggs are served with the breakfast.

In the surrounding area there are beautiful walking paths and about 500 to 600 metres from the farm lay our small lakes. By the lakes we have built our future residence but you are still welcome to take a stroll and enjoy the flower plantations, the waterfalls and wood sculptures. Right now we also have bride and mandarin ducks, park ducks and turkeys (only in summer).

At the ponds there is also a small chapel where you can have a quiet moment and think about the joy and sorrow of life. There is also a lean-to which can be used by our guests according to agreement.

We have together with the children built a small house nine meters up in a scots pine. In good weather, not too strong wind, you can go up and enjoy the view. Only three kilometres away there is also Barnsjön for the one who is bathing.

Prices

The rooms (all prices refer to one room per night) 

  • one person: 425 SEK
  • two persons: 550 SEK (275 SEK / person)
  • three persons: 705 SEK (235 SEK / person)
  • four persons: 880 SEK (220 SEK / person)
  • Discounts
    • Children 0-3 years  in their parents room free
    • Children 3-12 years in their parents room: 150 SEK
    • Family (two adults and two children) 1400 SEK for two nights
    • Student discount 25 SEK / night on the regular price, only applies for one-two person in a room
    • (cleaning of the rooms is included in all the prices)
  • Additional prices
    • Bed linen & towels: 60 SEK/person
    • Breakfast: 75 SEK/person
    • Dog: 50 SEK/night and dog at most 200 SEK.
    • Transports: for example; Skir Nybygget – Växjö train station 30 SEK/trip and Skir Nybygget – Växjö University 20 SEK/trip. You book your transport the day before but we have the right to deny if any impediments should appear (we will of course inform you when you are booking the trip in that case).
    • If you want to rent a room for more than a week, the price can be discussed.

Booking

We prefer if you book your room by e-mail. We would like to know how many people that are coming and for how many nights. We would also like to know if you for example want bed linen or breakfast. We will follow your wishes on which type of room you want as far as possible, all depends on the present availability.

If you wish transport from Växjö train station to Skir Nybygget, please inform us of the exact time of your arrival. We will reply on your e-mail as soon as possible.

Advance payment is preferred. If you book your room last minute, please pay on arrival.

For refunds, cancellation must be made at least 48 hours before the estimated time of arrival. The cancellation fee is 75 SEK/person.

From Växjö: Drive towards road 27 (direction Karlskrona). At the last roundabout (Fagrabäcksrondellen), drive towards Karlskrona on road 27 approximately 6 kilometers. Turn right at Kulladal (by the bus stop). Follow the road straight ahead for approximately 1 kilometer and you have arrived to our farm Nybygget; you will see two yellow houses, one barn and several red houses.

From the south on road 27: Drive towards Växjö. After Bramstorp (approximately 10 kilometers outside Växjö) drive on for 2 more kilometers. Then turn left towards Kulladal (at the red barn on your right). Follow the road straight ahead for approximately 1 kilometer and you have arrived to our farm Nybygget; you will see two yellow houses, one barn and several red houses.
